It made me mad...

...in a good way. I admit to playing this game almost obsessively until I won. It is possible to win without paying. If you're getting frustrated, my strategy was as follows:
1)Make a Mochigames login. I know the exploitation sucks, but you'll need to be able to save your career progress.
2)Play until you become at least become a captain. You'll need the badassness (extra health).
note: the double ammunition magazines and sentry engineer (double ammunition sentry guns) will help, but are not necessary for the win.
3)Now that you are a captain, make sure that you grab the ten free grenades at the beginning. DO NOT use any grenades unless you really need to use one.
4)As soon as you get enough money for each, unlock the following in order: street, reception, shotgun (this will be your primary weapon for a long time) vehicle hangar, workshop. Make sure to check out any powerups (in case they are grenades), and make sure to pickup the medium machine gun in the top right hand corner of the workshop.
5)Make your way back to the reception room, where you will spend the rest of the game. DO NOT unlock any more rooms.
6)Immediately upgrade the barricade to brick when you have the cash. Go for powerups only when they are reasonably close and if you are confident that you can get them. Once again, this is important for the off-chance that you will get your eight grenades, please do not use them yet.
7)Defend the reception room, making sure that no zombies break through the barricade on the right-hand side of the room. You may need to use a couple grenades on the last couple of stages before you get $7500.
8)Once you have $7500, buy the medium machine gun that you got in the workshop. You will not buy any more weapons in the game.
9)Keep defending the room until you get $10000. Go to the bottom-left corner (because it has a long shot down the street) of the room and buy one of the better sentry guns. If you never bought one of the sentry guns, don't worry too much about it's ammunition. At first, I was under the impression that the sentry guns were a one-time deal. This was UNTRUE. Keep a sly eye on the sentry gun and just press "f" to reload it when it empties.
10)Once you have $4000 dollars, buy one of the worse sentry guns. Put it higher up in the room, and farther to the right, but make sure you can see it from. Basically what you're doing is you're giving it a good shot at the only barricade in the room (which is why you're in that room, it only has two entrances) and you're giving it an alternate angle of fire on the doorway (this is key when dealing with the red necromancers).
Note: When dealing with necromancers, you can and should use grenades, but only in the case of a rush of skeletons. In a separate note, the necromancers are impotent if there are no dead bodies around them, so take them out as soon as possible. Of course, take out any zombies that are too close.
11)Just weather a couple more rounds and you should have enough cash for another good sentry gun. Place it about halfway between the two sentry guns, again for the alternate angle of fire.
12)Rinse and repeat, but this time buy one of the worse kind, and give it another good firing position on the barricade. Remember to repair the barricade and watch for any necromancers at the barricade, although if you do it right, you won't have to repair the barrier often.
13)Now just buy another one of the better sentry guns once you have the money and complete the five-gun arc you started. You should be able to relax right about now. In fact, you might not need to fire; but do it anyway because you don't want to lose so far in the game and taking zombies out yourself is more satisfying.

If you have followed all of the previous steps and survived, congratulations. The last wave is a cakewalk. You have won, and you didn't have to pay a dime.

Overall, it was a good top-down shooter, but I agree that how you had to actually buy some guns was like a huge middle finger to all of the gamers at a site where you get FREE GAMES.

For whomever playing this game...

Do not, under any circumstance, hit the the submit button directly after answering one of the objects correctly. This will result in the fluctuation between the start of the next level and the level after. 7/10 - 3/10 for this game-crippling glitch. If this was fixed, it would be much better.

Good.

The missiles are "s" not "5"...

Ansel responds:

With the pixel font I used, S and 5 look basically the same.

Another quiz?

Unless you've created something the calibre of "The Impossible Quiz', don't make a quiz game. They generally end up like this. It sucks, it's not funny, and it had no logic. The thing about GOOD quiz games is that although they seem stupid (and they are), they have certain unorthodox and convoluted logic patterns to them. A GOOD quiz game doesn't contain TOO much guessing. Part 2 better not be a second Part 1.

You know what would be good?

I really like the concept for this game. It's challenging and fun. But what would be even better would be for you to make preset levels so that no chance plays a role in the game. Also, a level editor feature would be awesome.

Yeah...

I was fine with the controls, but the fire hazards were a bit too touchy and I found level 9 (wish I had an elevator) to be basically broken, as whenever you jumped onto the third platform, the fire on the roof immediately killed you.

camoshark responds:

yes I know, the fire is my main objective to change, but unfortunatly, I don't have any replacement AS so until then, you'll have to keep trying, because anyways ,it IS possible, if you keep on trying

Not bad...

Maybe it's just me, but I would have preferred a continuous board, not the seizure thing that the fish does when on the "sidelines".

Why?

Sorry, but there was absolutely no reason to play that game. It had no storyline or purpose/goal. I played for about two seconds and got bored.

ZiggyZack99 responds:

sorry

Blah...

The game concept of your submission is one which has been done many times over with different twists or gimmicks involved, and is, admittedly, a concept that I like. Basically, everybody loves to blow crap up. Having said that, the aim was off and there wasn't much destruction besides the occasional window or barrel. But I got a few good minutes out of killing things. It's not good, but it's not broken.

Actually, I really don't have anything to say to people I don't know... wow...
